Horizon Film is an Amsterdam-based production house dedicated to bringing stories to life with a distinct vision and expert craftsmanship. Founded in October 2022 by three seasoned industry professionals—Sabine Brian, Diederik van Rooijen, and Boudewijn Rosenmuller—the company is driven by the ambition to produce high-quality films and drama series that resonate with broad, diverse audiences.

At Horizon Film, we consciously choose a select number of projects to ensure every production receives our full, undivided attention—from the initial spark of an idea to the final episode. We operate on the conviction that quality and commercial success are not opposites; rather, they strengthen one another. Our approach is personal, deeply involved, and creatively limitless, whether developing accessible auteur films, gripping thrillers, or compelling drama series.

Despite being a young company, Horizon Film has already made a significant mark on the international stage with high-end productions. Our portfolio includes SUGA for Amazon Prime, Sphinx for Videoland—which has already been sold to five countries —and the Netflix Original film iHostage. iHostage made history as the most-watched film on Netflix worldwide during its release week, reaching the Top 10 in 92 countries.

While we continue to produce standout drama series for major streamers and broadcasters such as Netflix, NPO, Prime Video, and Videoland, we are actively expanding into cinema. Currently, several feature films are in development, including the raw, true-crime film Rolexbende.

Horizon Film remains a "boutique label"—a home for top-tier Dutch talent where artistic freedom and production power go hand in hand. Small in scale, big in ambition.
