ALPHA 00 Premieres Jan 18th

In our new six-part drama series ALPHA 00, Diana, played by Sallie Harmsen, leads a specialized detective team handling the most urgent cases. From a state-of-the-art mobile command center – the ALPHA 00 – the team coordinates complex operations on location. Each episode focuses on a single urgent case where undercover work, live intelligence, and rapid tactical interventions come together.

The series promises excitement, action, and intrigue. Alongside Sallie Harmsen, the unit consists of Tarikh Janssen, Carly Wijs, Alidtcha Binazon, and Alex Hendrickx. ALPHA 00 airs weekly starting Sunday, January 18 at 20:20 on NPO 3 (NTR) and can be streamed on NPO Start.

The series offers a revealing look into the most thrilling police cases in the Netherlands. Interwoven with these cases is a suspenseful storyline involving the main character, Diana, who is confronted with a major corruption scandal within the police force and a personal trauma.

ALPHA 00 was created and written by Simon de Waal (known for The Golden Hour and Sleepers) together with Yannick de Waal and Randy Oost. Michiel van Jaarsveld (The Year of Fortuyn, Van der Valk) acts as showrunner.

The six episodes of ALPHA 00 are directed by six talented Dutch directors. With this series, they each take significant steps within the crime genre. Following an open call with over 200 applicants, directors Rachel van Bruggen, Timo Ottevanger, Roxanne Stam, Yim Brakel, Morris Maturbongs, and Chris Westendorp were selected. Chafina Bendahman mentored the team.

ALPHA 00 was developed and co-financed as part of the NPO talent series scheme, a collaboration between the NPO, the NPO Fund, and a public broadcaster. The goal of the scheme is to stimulate the development of talented new creators. This NTR series is produced by Horizon Film (iHostage, SUGA) in co-production with Caviar and is supported by the NPO Fund, the Netherlands Film Production Incentive, and the Belgian Tax Shelter.
