‘MH17’ Receives Netherlands Film Production Incentive

We are proud to share that our upcoming high-end drama series, MH17, has been awarded a €1,857,253 grant from the Netherlands Film Production Incentive by the Netherlands Film Fund. In the second incentive round of 2026, the fund selected 19 film and television projects, including our 5-part series.

About MH17

MH17 is a powerful drama series consisting of five 60-minute episodes. The series is directed by Diederik van Rooijen and written by Anne Barnhoorn. For this production, we are partnering with Belgian co-producer Wilder Content.

Based on true events, the series follows a relentless international investigation. Despite overwhelming opposition, political espionage, and a global disinformation campaign, investigators race to uncover the truth behind the tragic deaths of 298 innocent people after Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 was shot down over war-torn Ukraine.

Preparing for Production in 2027

This financial support from the Film Fund marks an essential milestone as we advance through pre-production. Behind the scenes, our team is actively preparing to begin principal photography in 2027.
